19/03/2016 – WMRL – Wellington 1 Bilston Town 0
The long trip up to cider country brought little reward – or justice – for The Steelmen, as, in spite of a fully committed display from the lads, we went down to a solitary first half strike.
Despite having much of the game the frame of the Wellington goal twice came to the home sides rescue in the first half as Bilston sought the elusive equaliser.
The second half was much of the same with Wellington hanging on as the game progressed. Piggo was denied two penalties in one move late in the game, with the referee first ignoring a foul on Tom, then failing to spot the handball that followed!
A late siege on the Wellington goal failed to produce the goal our play deserved, the post again denying a stoppage time shot.
A harsh result with no reward for the efforts expended but great support once again from the Orange Army, thank you to all that travelled.
We return to Hereford again next Saturday, for a date with Pegasus Juniors, so we dust ourselves down and go again, in search of those elusive points and our 7,500th league goal – one more goal required to create history.
